Crystal Dragon-Fish, "Rising Into the Heavens"

There is a popular Chinese legend telling that when the persistent carp finally overcomes the final obstacle of jumping over “the Dragon Gate” it may transform into a dragon. This piece alludes to that story, with two figures rising determinedly upward in an unmistakable ascent towards ambition and success. LIULI artists pay homage to the virtue of continual determination here, showing that success is always within reach. Sculpted in a masterful combination of negative relief at the bottom and rising relief toward the top, this artwork is both a blessing and a reminder of achievement.
