The magnificent hand-painted 2-panel screen shows a calming and glamorous scene with four fans with calligraphy (stating "bamboo brings harmony") with ivys backdrop. Hand fans are Asian an Artistic Symbol of Literati and Social Status, delicately painted on gold foil, creating a "picture in picture" look.
This screen can be hung as a statement piece of a wall with its solid wood frame. Hand-antiqued brass studs protect the edges, and standard hanging hardware will work with this screen.
The late legendary designer Lucia Lawrence designed the delicate painting with strong Japanese influence and commissioned a top contemporary painter in Hong Kong to hand paint using traditional Japanese brush painting methods with ink.
No two in the world of this design are exactly the same, and less than 20 were produced.
